Chevy Malibu LS and LT are equipped with a standard ECOTEC 2.4L four-cylinder 169-horsepower engine with Variable Valve Timing (VVT) and four-speed automatic transmission, offering an EPA estimated MPG 22 city/30 highway. Available four-cylinder engine/six-speed automatic transmission combination in LTZ (late availability).
